Johnson's Walkoff Picture Perfect Ending In Hurricane HHS Varsity's Victory Over Kanab

Hurricane HHS Varsity took Saturday's game in dramatic fashion, with an 8-7 walk-off victory over Kanab. The game was tied at seven with Hurricane HHS Varsity batting in the bottom of the seventh when a sacrifice bunt by Jerimiah Johnson scored one run for Hurricane HHS Varsity.
Kanab scored five runs in the fifth inning, but Hurricane HHS Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Kanab came thanks to singles by Angel Moreno, Marcus Fox, and John Sims.
Rylee Kent led the Hurricane HHS Varsity to victory on the pitcher's mound. He surrendered five runs on three hits over four innings, striking out eight. Michael Martinez threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Fox took the loss for Kanab. He went six innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out three and walking one.
Hurricane HHS Varsity had eight hits in the game. Brock Starley and Brian Long all managed multiple hits for Hurricane HHS Varsity. Long and Starley each collected two hits to lead Hurricane HHS Varsity.
Kanab racked up eight hits in the game. Fox, Sims, and Derek Houston each racked up multiple hits for Kanab.
