Hurricane HHS Varsity Loses Lead Early In Defeat

Hurricane HHS Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 7-1 loss to Cedar City on Tuesday. Cedar City scored on a home run by Korby Myers and a groundout by Luke Maggio in the second inning.
The Hurricane HHS Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Cedar City, giving up seven runs.
Cedar City got things moving in the second inning, when Myers hit a solo homer.
Cedar City scored three runs in the third inning. Marcus Johnson and Chase Houston each had RBIs in the frame.
Bridger Bunnell earned the win for Cedar City. He surrendered one run on four hits over seven innings, striking out ten.
Jagger Hadley took the loss for Hurricane HHS Varsity. He went five innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking one.
Cedar City tallied two home runs on the day. Houston had a homer in the third inning. Myers had a long ball in the second inning.
Brian Long, Brock Starley, Michael Martinez, and Brigham Hirschi each managed one hit to lead Hurricane HHS Varsity.
Jake Jenkins led Cedar City with three hits in three at bats.
